Re: Hour Clocks and End of Ice Time Etiquette
The Burnsville Ice Center has decided to take over the control of the hour clocks that are located on each rink. Our staff will be starting the clocks at the beginning of each ice time. These clocks will be used for each ice rental. A buzzer will go off at the end of each ice time period rented. Staff is doing this to help all customers stay within their allotted ice time and to keep the ice schedule and resurface schedule on time for all customers.
All users will receive their allotted ice rental time.
We will also require that all users have all pucks, cones, harnesses; etc… up off the ice before the hour ends to keep ice resurfaces on schedule. A suggestion is to have your assistants, helpers, etc… do this in the last 5 minutes of practice so the head coaches can continue to teach their students and teams. This will ensure that teams exit the ice when the hour clock buzzes. The Ice Center’s intention is that when the buzzer goes off teams are making there way off the ice and not beginning to puck up pucks or hold team meetings at center ice. We will also require that all teams hold their after practice meetings in the locker room instead of at center ice at the end of their ice time.
In order for the Ice Center to enforce this guideline, users will be warned two times and after that the user will be billed for the additional ice time used.
Once again, staff has made this decision to help the Ice Center serve all users and keep the Ice Center operations more efficient. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
