Q:  When can I start claiming DIBS?

A:  Now.  The DIBS year runs from April 1 to March 31.

Q: How many DIBS do I have to complete?

A: Each family is required to complete eight (8) DIBS hours per DIBS per skater.  There is a sixteen(16) DIBS hour maximum per family. At least six (6) DIBS hours must be completed at tournaments or designated Firemuster events.

Q: I'm a team manager, do I have to complete DIBS?

A: Yes.  Everyone is required to fulfill their DIBS every year.  There are no exemptions. Coaches, managers, board members will all be completing their DIBS.

Q: I signed up for a DIB, but need to change my signup.

A:  This depends.   If your DIB is in the future, send an email to volunteers@burnsvillehockey.com and ask for your name to be removed from the DIB.  If your DIB is less than 24-hours away, find a team mate, friend or family member to work your DIB shift for you.  The fee for not covering a shift you signed up to work is $150.

Q: Can my player work the DIB?

A:  Those under age 18 are not allowed to cover DIBS that are in the penalty box during tournaments. (No one under 18 can do scoreboard, penalty box doors or scoresheet. If anyone under the age of 18 will do music, they will need Bluetooth and device to play music outside the penalty box.)  Please be mindful of the abilities, attention, and work ethic of those you choose to have represent your family and BHC.

Q: I want to work the penalty box and timer during the same shift.  Will this work?

A: Sure.  If you bring a friend to work one of those jobs alongside you. If you sign-up to complete two DIBS at the same time, you will need to have two people to complete the DIBS.

Q: Can I work a game that my son/daughter is playing in?

A: Sure.  Keep in mind, if you work the clock, scorebook or penalty box or you are a game official you MUST act in an unbiased manner. Cheering and/or being critical of player(s), coaches or referees is unacceptable.
