BHC Development committee
The purpose of this Program is to communicate the Burnsville Hockey Club’s development philosophy as well as provide a structure to ensure this philosophy is achieved.
It is our hope and desire that coaches, players, coaches and parents will utilize this program before and during the season as a tool to maximize the development of our youth athletes and ensure that we all have an enjoyable season
OUR VISION
• We will provide the BEST youth and coach hockey development program in the state of Minnesota.
Our ultimate measure of success will be:
- Superior teamwork, sportsmanship, and performance (skill) of our athletes and coaches.
- Superior teamwork and sportsmanship of our parents.
- Recognized leadership position in the Minnesota Hockey League.
- Exporter of top talent to the Burnsville High School program.
• We will create an atmosphere of fun and learning that will allow players to develop to their full potential.
OUR GOALS
• We will utilize the following priorities to guide our behaviors.
- Do what’s best for the athletes (equally at all levels).
- Do what’s best for the coaches.
- Do what’s best for the club.
• We will define a comprehensive skill development program for each age level to ensure continuity in coaching and player growth.
• We will ensure that we have a high quality coaching staff at all levels for optimum player development.
• We will emphasize individual skill development and introduce players to basic hockey systems at the appropriate level.
• We will support player and skill development by providing an ACE Coordinator, HEP Coordinator and Training Center Director to assist coaches and/or teams.
• We will strengthen our commitment to goalie recruitment and development.
• We will strengthen our commitment to girl’s recruitment and development.
• We will provide effective training techniques and opportunities during the off-season.
• We will provide both competitive and recreational hockey opportunities.
