The Burnsville-Apple Valley FIrehawks Squirt C Gold team finished in 2nd place int the Minneapolis Cup over Thanksgiving weekend. The Firehawks beat Minneapolis Black and Minnetonka Black to secure a spot in the championship game.

The Firehawks held the lead much of the game until Rosemount gained a 2 point lead in the 3rd period. But the Firehawks came back to tie it up before regulation time ended.  In a 3 on 3 sudden death overtime, a penalty was called on the Firehawks and the momentum switched to Rosmount who then made the tie-breaking overtime goal.
