Intro to Hockey Program
Does your child want to play hockey?
This program is available for children ages 4 to 11 who have never played hockey and live in the ISD 191 school district. It's a perfect program for children who want to try hockey but have never been on the ice or have only skated a few times.
Cost is $50.
USA Hockey registration is also required.

The Intro to Hockey program is a great opportunity for first year skaters to experience hockey.
Cost is $50.
USA Hockey registration is also required.
Includes:
- Four Intro to Hockey on-ice sessions
- Partial hockey equipment package (Get to keep the equipment if you register for the season)
Equipment
A partial equipment package is included with registration. This includes shin guards, elbow pads, pants, shoulder pads, gloves, and helmet. (Must go to Westwood Sports in Apple Valley to get sized and pick up gear)
Player must provide- stick, hockey skates, mouth guard, and jock/jill shorts. (These items are available at Westwood sports or play it again sports stores)
Practice jersey and hockey socks also included in registration. These items will be handed out at 1st practice.
After registration your player will be added to the equipment roster at Westwood Sports in Apple Valley. Please go to Westwood Sports as soon as possible after registration to get outfitted. Simply tell an associate you are there for the Intro to Hockey equipment package.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible for this program?
- Boys and girls ages 4-11 who have NOT played organized hockey previously.
- Birth date between 6/1/14 - 5/31/19
- Players must live in the ISD 191 school district.
- Any skating ability - NO need to know how to skate.
Can I keep the equipment package?
- The equipment is yours to keep if you register the player for the regular season by last day of this program.
